SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23, 2008
A special meeting of the Handy Township Board of Trustees was called to order at 8:21 A.M. by Supervisor Denby in the Handy Township Boardroom. Members present: Eisele, Tesch, Redinger and Vaupel. Also present: Engineering Technologies – Ken Cousino and Livingston County Public Works Director – Brian Jonckheere.
Approval of Agenda
MOTION EISELE SUPPORT REDINGER TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.

New Business
Ken Cousino –Engineering Technologies and Brian Jonckheere - Livingston County PWD gave update concerning projects. Discussion followed concerning waste water treatment plant and status of lawsuit. West Grand River project financial report presented. Discussion concerning who is able to connect at this time, work to be closed up for the winter, safety issues on site, next step to finish project and criteria for rejecting low bids. Howell Township does an invite only for bids so they work with known contractors. Also discussed bond company’s responsibilities and if new bond is needed. Discussion concerning ongoing bills for projects and if they should be sent to township on a monthly basis. Current invoices total are $34,571.24. Clerk Eisele requested copies of invoices. Board thanked Mr. Jonckheere for coming.
MOTION EISELE SUPPORT TESCH TO AUTHORIZE THE CLERK TO TRANSFER $35,000.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO LIVINGSTON COUNTY BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS FUND NO. 864 AS LOAN TO COVER INVOICES FROM NOVEMBER 2007, DECEMBER 2007 AND JANUARY 2008. MOTION CARRIED. ABSTAIN – VAUPEL.
