HANDY TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 25, 2008
The regular Handy Township Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairman Hummel at 7:30 p.m. in the Handy Township Board Room. Members Present: Colston, Krebs, Redinger, Elliott. Absent: None. Also Present: Attorney Kehoe, Zoning Administrator Anderson, Peggy Dey, Metro Engineering-Pat Keast, and Utility Contracting Company-David Vaness.
Approval of Agenda:
MOTION ELLIOTT SUPPORT REDINGER TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.
Matters Pertaining to the General Citizenry: No comments.
Business Session:
Under Old Business, In the motion, the word “understanding” will be replaced by the word “condition”.
MOTION REDINGER SUPPORT ELLIOTT TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE 8-14-08 SPECIAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AS AMENDED. MOTION CARRIED.
Old Business: None.
New Business:
Township Planner, John Enos, reviewed his comments with the Commissioners. The lot will be used as a storage area for trucks and equipment for the business. No other businesses will be involved. A trailer will be on site to be used as an office. Mr. Enos would like to inspect the trailer once it is on site. The lot will include buffering along the road and screening along the south end. A dumpster will be on site and enclosed. Portable toilets will be available for use by employees along with bottled water. He recommended approval.
Spokesperson, Pat Feast-Metro Engineering, reviewed the site plan with the Commissioners. He added that there will be limited lighting on the lot. The trailer used for office space will be 10 x 36 in size with a flat roof and aluminum siding. The lot will see an average of 4-5 trucks, backhoes, reels of cable, etc… on site. No other company will be storing there equipment there. The ditch along the road will be used as the drainage for the lot.

Communications:
Continued discussion among the Commissioners in regard to wind generation systems. Township Planner, John Enos, will prepare draft language to present at the next regular meeting.
