SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2008

The special meeting of the Handy Township Planning Commission was called to order in the Handy Township Boardroom by Chairman Hummel at 7:30 P.M.  Members present: Elliott, Colston, Redinger and Krebs.  Also present:  Zoning Administrator – Anderson, Township Attorney – Kehoe, Engineering Technologies – Ken Cousino, Wilcox Professional Services – Andy Andre, Aisin – Taka Konishi & MackYuasa, Dickinson Wright – Steve Dawson, Munsell Farms - Frank & Gordon Munsell and Henry Vaupel.

Approval of Agenda
MOTION ELLIOTT SUPPORT REDINGER TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED.  MOTION CARRIED.

Matters Pertaining to the General Citizenry               None

Old Business

1. Aisin Site Plan Review Phase 3

Presentation by Andy Andre – Wilcox Professional Services. Site plan has been updated with work to be done on Damman Road, drain improvements to Handy #3 and Handy Iosco #8.  Discussion followed concerning height of berm and its effect on surface water drainage, future interior screening for property, drain on property to south which does not work and its effect on the surface water left standing.  Continued discussion on fixes to deal with standing surface water to south of property. Commissioners would like to look at the water problem, meet with drain office, Engineering Technologies and Aisin to see what can be done to address the issue of standing water. Applicant requested that the Commissioners table review until the next regular meeting of the Planning Commission to allow for the meetings to take place.
MOTION ELLIOTT SUPPORT REDINGER TO POSTPONE ANY DECISION ON THE AISIN PHASE 3 SITE PLAN REVIEW AT THE APPLICANT’S REQUEST UNTIL THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HANDY TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION ON MARCH 27, 2008 AT 7:30 P.M.
