REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2009

The regular meeting of the Handy Township Planning Commission was called to order in the Handy Township Board room by Chairman Hummel at 7:30 P.M. Members present: Frazier, Elliott and Krebs. Absent: Redinger. Also present: Zoning Administrator-Call, Township Attorney-Kehoe, John Enos-Carlisle/ Wortman, Fred Dillingham-EDC, Taka Konishi and Terry Takano-FTTA.

Approval of Agenda

MOTION ELLIOTT SUPPORT FRAZIER TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.

Business Session

A) Planning Commission Regular meeting minutes of 8-27-09

MOTION ELLIOTT SUPPORT KREBS TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF AUGUST 27-2009 AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.

Old Business

A) Width Requirements (Designs Standards-Report from John Enos)

John Enos reported concerning parallel roads and width requirements, no need to have on agenda, is part of design standards. No further action needed.

B) Performance Guarantees

No action needed. Upon review of ordinance matter can be addressed at pre-construction meeting.

New Business

A) Aisin Phase III Site Plan Amendment Request

Brief explanation of request by Zoning Administrator Call. Aisin would like to wait to asphalt internal roads until next phase of development. Changes in auto industry may change what surfaces are required.

MOTION KREBS SUPPORT ELLIOTT TO AMEND AISIN PHASE III SITE PLAN TO REMOVE AREA INDICATED AS FUTURE PAVING AS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS DATED 9-22-09. MOTION CARRIED.

B) Zoning Amendment-Outdoor Wood Fired Boiler or Furnace

John Enos presented information. Brief discussion followed, would be dealt with by the Zoning Administrator, will bring changes to next meeting.

Communications

Carlisle/Wortman has been working with Handy Township to apply for a grant to be used for sidewalks and an energy audit.

Reports

John Enos along with some members of the Planning Commission and Township Board met with Livingston County Planning and met the new director and one of the County Commissioners.
