REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2009
The regular meeting of the Handy Township Board of Trustees was called to order in the Handy Township Board Room by Supervisor Vaupel at 7:30 P.M. Members present: Eisele, Tesch, Munsell and Frazier. Also present: Township Attorney-Kehoe, State Representative Cindy Denby and resident Terry Eisele.
Approval of Agenda
MOTION EISELE SUPPORT
MUNSELL TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.
Brief Public Comments
Representative Denby gave information concerning issues in Lansing: workshops to assist those looking for work, upcoming series concerning Senior Citizen fraud, mobile home inspections, agricultural issues, delinquent assessments and health care. Supervisor Vaupel thanked her for coming.

Approval of Bills

Pending Business
A) Sewer / Water Report
Supervisor Vaupel reported on a meeting he attended concerning private systems. Handy Township does not currently have an ordinance on private systems and it is suggested that the Planning Commission address the issue.
The manholes at Red Cedar Crossings are still being worked on.
Village of Fowlerville is having an open house at the waste water treatment plant.

C) AssessorÕs Report
Report presented and reviewed.

Nothing to report.
E) Roads
Shoulder grading along Mason Road left a berm that required additional work.
F) AttorneyÕs Report
Presented revised copy of extension to Board members for review, will address at next monthÕs meeting.
G) Building Remodel
Nothing to report.
New Business
A) SupervisorÕs Report
Two Engineering Technologies bills presented for payment. ETC bills have been broken down further. Clerk Eisele outlined auditorÕs request for how bills should be done in the future.

SUPPORT EISELE TO PAY THE ETC BILL DATED
6-18-09 IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,308.90. MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION
EISELE SUPPORT TESCH TO PAY $5,905.60 IN REIMBURSABLES TO ETC.
MOTION CARRIED.
B) TreasurerÕs Report
Presented and reviewed. Clerk Eisele commented that the new report is much appreciated.
John Enos and the EDC are holding a seminar on grants for energy conservation, Clerk Eisele and Zoning Administrator Call will be attending.
C) ClerkÕs Report
No report
Extended Public Comments
Representative Denby stated that there have been new laws dealing with foreclosures enacted, if there are any residents with concerns they should be directed to her office for additional information.
